Samsung to fix sudden death issues soon

Samsung is acknowledging that the sudden death problem in its flagship Galaxy S3 & affirmed that it is working on a solution for it.

Dutch Samsung representative Anne ter Braak stated that the trouble is restricted to a little number of units & that a fix is on its way. As per the representative, the problem is because of a firmware bug that could be fixed with a trivial upgrade. Similar to other upgrades, it is anticipated to be an Over the Air update.

It was earlier reported by several Galaxy S3 users that their smartphone was abruptly dying thanks to main board crash, caused probably by collapse of the aboard NAND memory. A few users have indicated that the trouble happens when the smartphone is left inactive for a long time. Whilst the South Korean mobile maker did not affirm the precise nature of the trouble whilst acknowledging the subject, it did state that the subject is restricted to 16GB versions of the smart phone. Till now Samsung's reply to the trouble has been to replace those walking in with non working S3s with new units without too many questions.

Samsung's Galaxy S3 has done justice to the consumers and the company. In November, Samsung disclosed that it had retailed 30million units of the Galaxy S3 smartphone. So, if a problem like the one discussed above is true, they need to respond to that as soon as possible. Or their brand value will take a hit. And no company will desire that.

HTC sales feel by 45% in July, tough times ahead

Things are not great for the Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer, HTC. In the month of July, HTC suffered from a deep setback. In spite of the critically acclaimed One X, the money seems to be getting challenged only to the South Korean major’s wallet.  While the Samsung Galaxy S3 is basking in the mullah, HTC suffered from a 45% decrease in the revenues for the month of July. The manufacturer stated July revenues of T$25 billion ($834 million USD).  In 2011, the Asian giant reported T$45.11billion ($1.51 billion US$) in revenues & T$30 billion ($1billion USD) in June this year.

July is the part of third quarter and the revenues are already expected to go down by 23% for the period.
HTC needs to refresh the One lineup. There are rumors that a new quad-core 1.7Ghz, Tegra 3+ powered model is about to hit T-mobile in the United States market, & is expected to be known as the HTC One X+.  In addition, there is one more rumored smartphone known as the HTC Proto which could land before the conclusion of the year as a refreshed edition of the One V flaunting a 4 inch display.

But, reclaiming the lost market share won’t be an easy task for the troubled mobile maker. Apart from the Galaxy S3, HTC smartphones also have to face the wrath of the iPhone 5. The new iPhone is expected to hit the market shelves in September. Samsung is also close to unveiling the highly-anticipated Galaxy Note 2. But things are never certain in the smartphone world. HTC has the power and zeal to bounce back. At the moment, we can only wish good luck to them.

Apple and Microsoft all-set to battle it out; Surface and iPad mini hitting market soon

This week two technology giants are ready to go one-on-one with their new iPad Contract tablet PCs. Microsoft has left no stone unturned to convince the technology world that Surface is the best slate in the market, and is ready to organize an exclusive event on Thursday. Apple which is an infamously secretive firm, is striving to keep things under wraps before the official announcement. But, this does not deter dedicated rumor sites to speculate probable specs, and obviously exciting Apple fan boys.

The tablet PC market is pretty competitive, with Amazon offering Kindle Fire and Google’s homegrown Nexus 7 giving rivals a run for their money. Interestingly, both the devices cater to the 7-inch segment. The Cupertino-based brand must have sensed this opportunity, and probably desires to annex this territory as well, eliminating rivals brutally.

Anyway, the Surface seems like a bold product with a number of enhancements, such as the magnetic case that transforms into a keypad & a premium body. There is no snapper & the focus is clearly on Office software. This indicates that the Redmond-based giant pitches this more as a productivity tool, though there is also an absence of 3G connectivity. The major attraction is the Metro, which is the tile-based navigation interface, and is wonderfully configured. Pre-orders for this slate has been already labeled as sold out in the United States. It is being released along with Windows 8, which is Microsoft's long due OS update, touted as the largest amendment in Windows history, substituting the memorable desktop with Metro's tiles.

HD voice arriving on WP platform, but only on Lumia smartphones

Wideband, or the nicknamed HD voice is a great thing, as it permits for better clearness & most excellent audio experience in VoIP apps. It doubles both the sound spectrum thickness, & the sampling rate, thus voices emerge remarkably loud & crisp, with a portion of the bandwidth desirable by the customary solution.

These HD voice goodies are now coming to Viber for Windows Phone, the popular mobile communications platform, which recently announced it reached 100 million users, but there is a catch.

The High Definition-quality voice transmission will be obtainable exclusively for the Nokia Lumia WP Viber application, configured in alliance with the Finnish mobile maker, thus this firm are achieving another Windows Phone exclusive to make their Contract phones more gorgeous among the competition from Samsung & HTC.

Dell Venue Pro ready to tango; awarded with WP Tango update

The announcement of Windows phone brings cheer to investors and Microsoft patrons alike, but it also disappointed many users who were expecting this update to hit their deices. Nonetheless, Microsoft has discovered a middle way, and is offering Windows Phone Tango. This update fetches some of the enhancements.  But, it was not clear when it will start seeding to your handset.

If you are also anxious about the release of the OS to your phone, then this report might cheer you up. The windows Phone Tango is now available for the Dell Venue Pro.  In spite of the truth that the Venue Pro is roughly two years old now & was part of the initial crop of Windows Phone to land in the market, it is still getting the most recent updates. Till now, we merely know that one tech buff in Germany who has got this upgrade for this smartphone, however others will also receive the update.

Do remember that this is not the Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade which was promised to existing Windows Phone 7.5 gizmos. Also, there is no assurance that this smartphone will get that particular upgrade. However the fact that Dell is still upgrading a 2 years old handset gives users some hope. And it also displays the fact that Dell is considerate about its customers, although their mobile phone business hasn’t taken off well. It is also rare to see a customer flaunting a Dell Venue Pro. In the meantime, Samsung Omnia W is also updated to Windows Phone Tango.
