Class action lawsuits alleging serious violations, Carrier IQ, HTC, Samsung in dock

Troubled with scandals, software firm Carrier IQ is still having a very bad week, with some more class action court cases filed in opposition to them. The two lawsuits alleged that the Federal Wiretap Act is violated in their analytics software.

The complaints were registered in Missouri & Illinois, & also blame Samsung & HTC.

The lawsuits claim that these firms seized, recorded & even compiled info from user’s handsets & then pass on that info to a third party (service providers) without the approval of the parties which were observed. The court cases also ask for legal & punitive compensation that could conveniently interpret into a huge amount, which would be distributed among the users of these phones with the Carrier IQ’s software. As 141 million handsets own this software, users shouldn’t hope for a huge amount.

Carrier IQ has strongly denied these allegations. Carrier IQ is saying that they just provide the software.
