Carephone Warehouse sends a clear message, will accelerate sales via online route

Carphone Warehouse is clear about its plans, and is sending out a clear message that they are focusing to increase their share in the online market. According to the CEO of Carephone warhouse, the closure of Best Buy stores is not a step back. It is expected that Carphone will increase investment in its online stores, taking help from the £840m it has earned by selling its share in the Best Buy’s United States business.

The CEO of this company, Andrew Harrison is of the opinion that the company investing in its online business is very significant. Anyway, the industry gave a cold response to the news of the £70 million closure decision. Many went to the extent of saying that it this step was inevitable. ‘The core competency of Carephone Warehouse is not operating ‘big box' electronics stores. Running such stores comes under an entirely different business model. The partnership between Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy was never sustainable.

Carephone Warehouse also denied that Best Buy’s aspirations were the reasons behind the end of their partnership. Samsung UK confirmed Galaxy S 2 getting Android ICS update, on its Twitter account

Twitter has done it again. The latest news is that Ice Cream Sandwich update is heading t Galaxy S 2.
Yes, the brilliant smartphone from the South Korean mobile maker will be more sought-after in the future, thanks to the upcoming update.
The official Samsung account Tweeted about the Galaxy S2 receiving ICS, but they didn’t mentioned any confirmed date.

It’s a matter of shame that fans were not given any date, but we are expecting to be in the second quarter of 2012. Thus, anticipate your 'new' handset next year.

The delay is possibly due to the company working on the OS to work with its own TouchWiz interface, or it could be some networking testing issues.
But, the bottom line is we are getting the update for Galaxy s2.

Still, the information revealed by pocketnow.com is not too much. HTC Rezound will come with a powerful 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a huge 4.3-inch screen and will operate on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It will also flaunt an 8 MP camera.



This brilliant product will also support Verizon's 4G LTE network. It will be available from mid-November. You can buy it for $299 on contract.

It’s late but better late than never. Right? LG Optimus 2X,  LG Optimus 3D & Optimus Black will at last get Android 2.3 Gingerbread this month. LG Optimus 2X will get update from today. LG Optimus 3D will get the update in the week beginning from November 21. And, LG Optimus Black will get the update in the week starting from November 28. But, keep in mind that these are unlocked versions.



For other markets and the Sim Free Phones the update schedule will be declared later. These details were disclosed at the official LG page on Facebook. We do not get any other information.

Nokia’s Q3 results declared; sales are still down

Nokia has announced its Q3 sales result. The sales were seeing a downward trend, but with comparison to the Q2, the performance is better.  This period could be the last quarter without Windows Phone phones. Nokia’s future is depending on this operating system.
Let's observe the figures. First, the net sales for Nokia's gadgets & other Services saw a decrease of 25% Year-on-Year.  The operating profit also went down by 84%, at €132 million. This is better than the last quarter, but the operating loss of €71 million is still a headache.
The number of Nokia gadgets sold during this period was also facing a declining trend, by 3%. The smartphones took a dive of about 38%, but other phones sale increased by 8% YoY.
The main question arising is the situation of the market when all of the Nokia’s WP7 handsets get released in the market. It is even rumored that WP7 OS can come in an affordable form too.
In simple words, Nokia needs to take some steps, if they wish to survive.
