Siri obtainable on jail broken iPhones by Spire

A few weeks ago, we discovered that Siri can be lawfully ported to older iPhones as the most recent iOS upgrade, 5.0.1, has decrypted the system files required to make Sir work. At the moment, the superb developer Chpwn has made a (comparatively) simple port for jail broken iPhones.

The innovative application, known as the Spire, is obtainable in the Cydia application store through the Big Boss repo. This exciting app can also work with the Apple iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3rd & 4th generation, & even the first generation of the iPad. It is our suggestion to install Spire through WiFi, as when Spire will transfer the data to your device, some part of it will arrives direct from Apple's servers.

Sadly, this is not a absolute solution as Siri does still need information from an iPhone 4S to run, however Spire solves this problem by permitting you to include a proxy server.

Argentina prohibits the sale of the RIM handsets & iPhone temporarily

Apple iPhone & BlackBerry patrons might be shedding tears over Argentina as the government has introduced a ban on the retailing of foreign-manufactured smart phones. So, it will affect the sales of the Apple iPhone & every BlackBerry phones. This duo constitutes for about 60% of the smart phone marketplace in the nation. Argentina states it is taking this step to improve what has been a troubled economy so far.

A number of other mobile phone producers such as Nokia, Samsung, Motorola or LG are permitted to sell their goods in the country as they all have opened factories in Argentina. Apple & RIM can avert the ban by opening a plant there or by searching a partner that is allowed to market its goods. Rumor is that RIM is searching for a partner.

In the beginning of the 2011, Argentina imposed a hefty 20.48% tax on foreign-made electronic goods, apart from the usual 21% tax that is levied on the electronic items. In the month of March, they revived the automatic import license, which pushed RIM & Apple to wait for approximately three months for Customs Authority approval for every new gizmo.

However, when the economy gets better Argentina will possibly eliminate the ban. Do you think such protectionist measures are good for the economy?

Nokia bids adieu to Symbian

Nokia is strengthening its strong ties to Microsoft by dumping its long-running OS, Symbian.

Phones working on the operating system have been vanishing from the shelves in the United States market & we are anticipating an update that will bring in a completely new brand. Symbian's most recent iteration was called as Symbian Belle – as witnessed in the Nokia 700 – & at this moment the Finnish maker will just refer to the operating system as the Nokia Belle.

Handsets presently working on Symbian will shortly receive the opportunity to Nokia Belle, & the operating system will release on Nokia's latest phones that are not working on WP operating system.

Whilst this is obviously an effort to distance itself from the struggling Symbian operating system, we still very much anticipate the Finnish maker to focus its future endeavors on the Windows Phone operating system.
